Meet Your Guide

Susan Bunting Byus
Founder, Senior Consultant
Classic City Educational Consultants

Life is sometimes funny. In my case, being a college tour guide as a student led to a job in admissions right after graduation which then led to a 30+ year career. I don’t really know how time got away, but for the past three-plus decades I’ve been working with students and their parents to determine the best fit for the student’s educational needs.

Time has offered me many experiences and opportunities. I enjoy helping students and making the admissions process as simple as it can be because I understand college admissions is confusing. Colleges and universities are all in the same industry, but they are all a bit different. Whether it be their mission, deadlines, review process and enrollment goals, college admissions officers speak a language that is commonplace to them, but foreign to those new to the process.

I’ve worked for a small private liberal arts college, an independent PS-12 school as a college counselor, and at a large, public flagship institution. I’ve also been a parent who survived the process with my child.

I’m excited to launch Classic City Educational Consultants to share my expertise and help students find their college match. Feedback from parents, students, high school counselors state that I am approachable, thoughtful, patient, funny while being knowledgeable, organized, and thorough.

As you consider working with a consultant to explore options, streamline the search process and reduce stress for the whole family, I hope you’ll consider Classic City Educational Consultants.
